You walk back to the haunted pool and look in. A lioness is looking back at you with large, kind eyes. "I'm so alone," she says. "Have you seen my lion?" You ask her who the lion is and she says he wanders the cave. "He can't rest until he finds me." You offer to go look for him, but she says you must carry a magic talisman or he won't see or hear you. She holds a bone in her jaws. Timidly, you reach through the surface to take it. She pounces, wrapping her wet paws around your shoulder and neck, bearing you down into the haunted pool. You cannot move, and eventually you have to let out that breath....
