LIMERICKS BY JASON KNIGHT ------------------------------------------------- "Act I" a collection of limericks "Zazu's Visit" Uncle Scar was a grumpy old one Who would torment a mouse just for fun! When the bird paid a call Scar was ready to maul It's a good thing he hadn't a gun "Rafiki" Our mandrill sat down in a tree And painted Prince Simba with glee Not to leave it unsaid, He anointed his head Symbolic, I think. Don't you see? "The First Morning" A cub sat and secretly spied On the landscape that stretched far and wide He succumbed to allure And demanded a tour Of the Land of the Rock of the Pride "Mufasa's speech" "All you see the light touching is mine. I mean, OURS, every dot, every line. And when I pass away Is the start of YOUR day But it's not always perfect and fine." "It's not?" "There's a thing called the Circle of Life And it brings you both gladness and strife. Why it has to bring pain I can't hope to explain But it's why you'll make Nala your wife." "Hey Uncle Scar! Guess what." While Mufasa gave poachers a chase Simba stuck himself right in Scar's face Uncle Scar let it slip Not to dare take a trip To a magical mystery place! "No Place for a Young Prince" To the north, as the histories say, Was a sight you don't see every day And they save every cave For the bold and the brave 'Twas a graveyard where elephants lay! "Nala's Invitation" Simba whispered to Nala the news And there wasn't a moment to lose So some hide and some seek Lost the guy with the beak Then the two were left free to peruse. "The Trap" True, the graveyard sure opened their eyes But the valley held one big surprise: Out among all the ru'ns Were Scar's trio of goons No one said anything 'bout those guys! "The Rescue" When it looked like the end of the fight Who should come but Mufasa! All right! They got out of there fast And, as evening had passed, It was starting to turn into night.
